Our English for Custodians Theme is from a unique Pathway to Literacy course put on for the custodial workers at a school district. Because it was taught in a workplace, the content was chosen to be relevant to the job based on a workplace needs analysis, but the teaching still followed the Pathway to Literacy philosophy and teaching methods for working with literacy level, immigrant students. It can serve as a model for other literacy level workplace English classes.
